It is exciting to see Newman Water Polo Players Association continue to achieve its goals and aspirations, that being to provide the opportunity for students to learn the game of water polo in a fun and safe environment and participate in a competitive and recognized local competition. All teams ended on a high last season with major milestones being met by a lot of the players. The success can be measured by the number of players returning to what will be our third season in the pool at Challenge Stadium. 72 players have just been coordinated into an amazing 8 teams, 4 Flipper Ball, 2 District Girls and 2 District Boys teams which will commence competition on October 23rd. Training for the District teams commenced at the Newman pool yesterday with almost 100% turnout. We are privileged to have access to such a great venue for training, whilst many teams struggle for pool space for training at challenge Stadium. Special Thanks to the parents who have volunteered their time to join what is now a fantastic committee and to those that have put their hand up to coach &/or manage this year’s teams. Any sporting club like this can only operate with the enthusiastic participation of parents and of course the players. Another huge Thanks to Todd and Jayden Beveridge who have kindly offered their expertise to give our website the fresh new look we now have and keep it up to date…A huge job we greatly appreciate… Don’t forget to spread the word about water polo and encourage friends to give it a go. They will always be welcome at Newman Water Polo Players.
